Prevention
our services
The range of our dental hygiene professional services includes all three levels of care:
- The preventive oral prophylaxis
- Therapeutic scaling and root planning
- Supportive periodontal maintenance care
Dental prophylaxis is performed on patients with normal, healthy mouth and consists of removing plaque, stain and calculus (tartar) from the teeth to prevent cavities and gum disease. It includes scaling and coronal polishing. Topical application of fluoride is followed the professional cleaning. |
Professional cleaning consists of removing plaque, stain and calculus (tartar) from teeth to prevent cavities and gum disease.
Fluoride is effective in preventing and reversing the early signs of tooth decay; it strengthens the tooth structure, making it more resistant to bacterial acids in dental plaque.
Dental Sealants are used to cover deep pits and fissures of permanent back teeth, so that plaque bacteria cannot get into them. A sealant is placed on the chewing surface posterior teeth to act as a barrier to tooth decay. |
